Flaxseed, also known as linseed, is an ancient grain that has been used in the diets of humans for thousands of years. Its high content of Alpha Linolenic Acid (omega 3 fatty acid) has made flaxseed as the miracle food. It has a pleasant, nutty flavours.

Health benefits

i) Healthy cholesterol level

Many studies have shown that flaxseed benefits the body by lowering the LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and help lowering blood triglyceride and blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart attack.

ii) Reduce risk of cancers and chronic diseases

Flaxseed is one of the richest source of lignan (antioxidant) and good source of dietary fiber. Researchers have revealed that the lignan content in flaxseed shows a lot of promises in fighting away certain diseases and prevention of cancers.

How to select and store

Store in cool, dry place. Keep refrigerated once opened. You can blend 1 to 2 tablespoon of flaxseed and sprinkle on cereals, beverages or dishes. Ideal for bread making too.
