Organic molasses sugar

Submitted by jiahuanNo Comment

General description

Generally, molasses is the concentrated byproduct left over after the sugar’s sucrose has been crystallized. Unlike refined sugar, it is rich in minerals like calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, iron, vitamin A and C, therefore, it is commonly used as the sugar substitution or diabetic diet.

Health benefits

i) Source of iron

Molasses is an excellent source of iron,  especially for menstruating women or individuals who are at risk of iron deficiency because, in comparison to red meat, molasses provides more iron for less calories and is totally fat-free.

ii) Source of calcium

Molasses is a very good source of calcium that helps in formation of strong bones, contraction of muscle and regulation of enzyme activity.

iii) Energy and mineral dense sweetener

Compared to normal refined sugar, molasses provides more minerals like manganese, copper, iron, calcium, potassium and others in the same amount. That makes it a better and healthier choice for consumers especially diabetic patients.

How to select and store

Store in cool and dry place to avoid absorption of moisture.
